Description
Born between jungle and ocean, on the volcanic lands of northeastern Madagascar, vanilla pods mature slowly, cradled by diffuse warmth and salty wind. Over eighteen months, they soften, darken, gain suppleness and depth, until they become flexible black ribbons, almost woody. It is this dark material that Aurélien Guichard chose to dress with a powdery brilliance: an overdose of white musks and a shower of tonka bean, also reduced to powder, caress its curves like an immaculate veil placed on an organic, dense, captivating material. From the first whiffs, the vanilla reveals itself as dark, textured, both leathery and enveloping. Then come the white powders: silky musks, milky nuances, dry light. In the base, the tonka bean pulses like a warm breath, rounding the trail with a muted sensuality.
